Master Atiar Rahman, a 12 years old boy had VSD (hole in the heart) and operated in our hospital on 21.09.04. He left the hospital on 7th postoperative with excellent recovery.

Master Naim, a 5 years old boy had multiple problems in his heart (complex congenital cyanotic heart disease). He had VSD, ASD, PS (infundibular, valvular & supra-valvular) with double outlet right venticle and PDA. It is a rare, complicated condition of the heart and very difficult to correct surgically. On 05.10.2004 Prof. Asit Baran Adhikary and his team performed this operation successfully in KYAMCH and the patient left the hospital on 12.10.2004.

Mrs. Shekha Rani 35 years old lady had hole in the upper chamber (ASD) in her heart. Her operation i.e. closure of the defect done through the right chest wall, just below the right breast not through the middle of the chest. It is a very desire type of heart operation in respect to cosmesis especially in our social perspective where no one will accept life partner with a big cut mark on the middle of the chest. Prof. Asit Baran Adhikary the only Cardiac Surgeon doing this operation in Bangladesh. He is also replacing the Mitral Valve through this route. He had performed about 150 cases of cosmetic cardiac surgery in our country without major morbidity and without mortality.

Ms. Shahanaz a 3 years old girl admitted with PDA (Extra Cardiac Shunt) for operation. Successfully she was operated on 20-10-04 and discharged from hospital on 26-10-04. No blood transfusion was needed.

Mr. Amir Hossain 40 years came from Noyapara, Jessore with Hypertension and Headache. After clinical examination and relevant investigations he was diagnosed as a case of Secondary Hypertension due to Coarctation of Aorta (Extreme narrowing of Aorta just after left subclavian artery causing absence or delaying of femoral pulses). He had offered left heart catheterization. Here in KYAMCH cath lab, he had his CAG with Aortography through right femoral and right brachial artery approach. This patient was operated on 12-10-04 with excision of coarct segment along with end-to-end anastomosis of Aorta with ligation of PDA.
